NO SLEEP TILL DERBY

So we set off from Sunny old Newport to bring the finest in modern grind to the ready and waiting hoarde.
Only first we had to go to Linus' parents house and get a SatNav (the arranged unit having been mysteriously 'leant' to someone) that was apparently 'found in a Taxi'... meaning that due to it's non-legal status the maps are quite a few years out of date, which will bite us in the ass a bit later on.
We blast up to the Midlands having crammed the joblot into an old Transit.
The Venue was to be the Victoria Inn which was really easy to find due to it's proximity to the railway station.
WORMROT had recently played there so we were assured of it's grindcore potential: this would be a sell-out night!

No?

Well anyway the Promoter and his pals were really nice fellows, and the Vic was full of photos of really great past bands who had played there: bands like Napalm Death, Crass, etc etc meaning we got to shoot the shit with all and sundry about the illustrious history of FAST and LOUD.
The Other bands were also really cool, and interested in what everyone was doing musically: this would prove pretty vital by the time the show opened.

ABOVE: always good to have a solid roof above your head.

After the very bleak Necroface and supertech Galleons we bang out a sweaty one that seemed to please what audience we had, we then chill out to the solid crowbaresque riffs of headliners Jagerneth.

All in all a good evening: perhaps lightly attended but those that came were really up for it and seeing it was a wednesday night they stayed and caught the whole deal. Win.

The poster looked like this:

That night we bunked down at Phil's (Lordaeron, Necroface) house, and can only thank his poor girlfriend for having to deal with 3 stinking idiots once he'd left for work in the morning.

TOUR IS OVER, IF YOU WANT IT...

OK SO due to a series of unexpected yet predictable fails I was unable to blog the tour as things progressed, so am reduced to posting this general update- more detail, photos and video to follow as we get things sorted out and edited.
For now I will include a list of highlights...

Playing with Macho Insecurity TWICE.

Giffard arms resembling the BLACK LODGE from twin peaks. WOOOOOOOOO!

Marek using Polish language skills to charm free hot chocolate out of Warwick services.

GALLEONS. Safe guys.

STONEHENGE.

Meeting Al-Thawra and Winters in Osaka.

Ferde Rehman crowd surfing in Bristol. Legend.

Much more to come.

UK TOUR: Cardiff

Woke up this morning, some clever fellow had decided it great sport to smash the front number plate of the van. Great.
Then we got a phone call saying the gig was off because of some kind of problem with the venue (it transpires they 'lost the booking' from the diary) and there's nothing more to be done.
Whilst not the end of the world this is a massive inconvenience: a waste of holiday time and no chance to finally headline in our own area. Not to mention a dire portent for the rest of the sodding tour.
I'm hoping it's not the start of a series of dire fails.

The poster would have looked like this:

First post.

Ok so I am starting this particular webfart in order to record various gig stores and stuff, what happens to me when I play with my various noisy rubbish bands.
I stole the idea from my good friend Andi M, who plays bass in a well-known famous and stuff death metal band.
Anyway the idea is to de-glamorise what folks imagine the gigging experience to be and record the progress of our first ever uk tour.
Wish me luck.
